The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo has finally dropped Mr. Felix Isere as his Special Adviser on Oil and Gas.

Governor Okpebholo has also appointed Mr. Kasimu Otono as a replacement for Isere who was recently suspended for “unauthorized fund raising, using the name of Edo State Government for the proposed oil and gas summit.”

Governor Okpebholo’s decision is contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to Edo State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq.

“It is hereby announced for the infomation of the General Public that the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Barr. Kasimu Otono as Special Adviser (Oil & Gas) to the Governor.

“Barr. Kasimu Otono, who replaces the suspended immediate-past Special Adviser, Mr. Felix Isere, is a Legal Practitioner, real estate entrepreneur, philanthropist and community mobilizer,” part of the statement reads.

Isere, who was a member of the New Media subcommittee of the All Progressives Congress 2024 Governorship Campaign Council was accused of soliciting for funds to organize a widely touted ‘Oil and Gas Summit’ that was scheduled to hold on August 7, 2025 in Benin City, Edo State Capital, before he was suspended from office recently.
