Abuja — Senator Neda Imasuen, Chairman Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition, has commended the leadership of the Nigerian Senate under Godswill Akpabio, praising what he described as the smooth and effective running of the upper legislative chamber.
Speaking during an interaction with journalists in Abuja today, the senator noted that the Senate has maintained order and productivity under Akpabio’s leadership.
According to him, the Senate President’s approach to managing debates and legislative procedures has helped foster unity and cooperation among lawmakers.
Imasuen said the chamber has been able to deliberate on major bills and national issues in a calm and organized manner, allowing the Senate to focus on policies that affect Nigerians.
He added that the leadership style of Akpabio encourages inclusiveness and constructive engagement among members of different political parties.
The lawmaker also highlighted the effective cooperation between the National Assembly and the executive arm of government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to him, the Senate has been working closely with the administration of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to support policies and reforms aimed at national development.
Imasuen noted that the collaboration between the legislative and executive arms has helped facilitate the timely consideration of government policies, budgets, and reform initiatives.
He said such synergy is essential for delivering good governance and ensuring that government programmes translate into tangible benefits for citizens.
“The smooth relationship between the Senate and the executive has created an environment where important national matters can be addressed promptly and responsibly,” he said.
The senator urged fellow lawmakers to continue supporting the leadership of the Senate to maintain stability and productivity in the chamber.
He expressed optimism that sustained cooperation between the legislature and the executive would strengthen democratic governance and accelerate development across the Nigeria.

Observers say commendations from senators such as Imasuen reflect growing confidence among some lawmakers in the leadership of the Senate and its working relationship with the executive branch under President Tinubu.
