Gov Otti
The Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has called on the people of Ukwa la Ngwa to go and get registered for their permanent voters card as it is the only thing he is expecting from them.
The Governor disclosed this on Friday during a grand reception ceremony on his behalf by the people of Ukwa la Ngwa, at the Enyimba International Stadium Aba.
The event, which drew thousands of enthusiastic supporters, traditional leaders, and political stakeholders, was held to celebrate the governor’s achievements and reaffirm the people’s support for his administration.
Addressing the crowd, Governor Otti expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming show of love and unity and used the opportunity to remind Abians of the importance of active civic participation.
“The only thing I want you to do is, if you have not registered to vote, please go and do that, the number of people in Aba is ten times larger than the number of votes that come from Aba.
“So the only way to show your strength is to go to all the nooks and crannies around you and get people to register for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs),” he urged.
He further encouraged residents to take ownership of their communities’ safety and stability while commending the peaceful atmosphere being maintained across the state.
“Also, be the chief security officer in your neighborhood, don’t let any miscreant come and spoil the peace we’re enjoying,” he said.
The governor’s remarks received loud applause from the jubilant crowd, many of whom described Otti’s administration as people-oriented and reform-driven.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive development and citizen empowerment, urging all Abians to stay united, vigilant, and proactive in shaping the future of the state.
