Senator Imasuen’s, Legislative Aide, Okundia Bags Ph.D

Dr. Hassan Okundia, the Legislative Aide to Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Constituency, has bagged a PhD in Election and Party Politics.
Announcing his academic achievement, Dr. Okundia expressed gratitude to all those that made the feat possible.
“With immense gratitude, I announce the culmination of my academic pursuits, harmoniously blending practical experience in Environmental Practice, dedicated service as a Legislative Aide at the National Assembly and scholarly exploration in Political Studies.” Dr Hassan Okundia said.
Dr. Okundia who presently serves as the Legislative Aide to Senator Imasuen at the Senate of the National Assembly holds a B.Sc. (Ed.) in Environmental Health and Health Education and a Master’s in Health Planning and Management (MPH&M) from the University of Benin; a Master’s in Election and Party Politics (EPP) from the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Abuja, before adding his latest cap—Ph.D. in Election and Party Politics from the Federal University, Lokoja.
With over three decades of progressive experience in environmental health administration and public service, he began as a Sanitary Inspector in the Bendel State Local Government Service (1984–1989). He trained as an Environmental Superintendent, and had held key positions, including Environmental Officer at the Edo State Government House, Enforcement Officer, Secretary, Sole Administrator, and Executive General Manager of the Edo State Environmental and Waste Management Board.
In 2015, he transitioned into active politics with the National Assembly. Dr. Okundia is driven by integrity and commitment to public service, and he is an ardent promoter of environmental health, good governance, and sustainable community development.
His scholarly focus encompasses electoral violence, political participation, public policy, and electoral reform in Nigeria.
