Local Government Election in Nigeria is a Selection Process: Who is Disturbing The Peace of Rivers People?

State governors in Nigeria are known for capitalizing on the weakness of State Electoral Commission to select Local Government Chairmen and Councillors , instead of election.
Repeatedly, the conduct of local government elections by State Electoral Commission in Nigeria has been a ceremony to validate the selection of the local government Chairmen and Councillors by the respective States governors.
The noise in Rivers State, the irresponsible contradictory Courts Orders by the Nigeria Judiciary, the noise by the Nigeria Police that they will obey court Order not to provide security for the conduct of the election, etc, are all in disturbance of the peace of the good people of Rivers State.
Court Order or no Court Order, Police or no Police, Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission will announce the winners of the local government election in the evening of today, Saturday, 5th October, 2024.
The sad aspect of democracy in Nigeria is the brazen violation of the Constitution by the people that are elected and appointed to defend the Constitution of Nigeria.
The Local Government election crisis in Rivers State is another example of some persons deliberately violating the Constitution of Nigeria and the laws of Rivers State.
Patriots and all good people of Nigeria should continue to reflect on these vices of democracy and think out a pragmatic collective commitment of Nigerians towards the enthronement and sustainance of democracy in Nigeria.
What will presently have as democracy in Nigeria is a joke. I expect President Bola Tinubu to be concerned with the survival of democracy in Nigeria, not the excitement of the office of the president of Nigeria.
If he is watching the events in Rivers State, he should know that it is the Constitution of Nigeria under his protective apparatus that some people are arrogantly violating. All these are factors that affect domestic cohesion, economic productivity and International relations.
