2027: Senator Uzamere Bids Farewell to PDP, Heads to ADC

A two-term Edo South Senator, Ehigie Edobor Uzamere has resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), amidst unconfirmed speculation that he is heading to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition to nest his next political move.
Citing his conviction and service to Edo South People, the distinguished ‘Aiguiyekampe’ political maestro, espoused that politics is a vehicle for service and representation, and a means for leaders to express their commitment to the welfare of the people.
Senator Uzamere who had earlier represented Edo South twice, at the Nigerian Senate, ended his association with the once humongous party that brought him to national prominence.
In his resignation letter dated today, October 7, 2025, and addressed to Osaigbovo Godspower, the PDP Chairman of Ward 12, Ovia North-East Local Government Area, Uzamere hinged his decision on personal conviction and his “continued commitment to the service of the people,” rather than by animosity.
The letter read:
“Politics, at its best, is a vehicle for service and representation — a means through which leaders express their commitment to the welfare of the people.
“However, as the dynamics of the Nigerian political landscape continue to evolve, I find it necessary to seek a new platform that aligns more closely with my vision and desire to continue serving my people effectively.”
Uzamere who preaches a political philosophy of ‘Aiguiyekampe’ (politics without bitterness) thanked his former party for the opportunities and experiences the PDP gave him to ascend political ladder.
In a telephone chat with Midwest Herald, Senator Uzamere could not confirm his next political move, even as he said he is in consultation with like minds.
“Am still consulting and I will reveal the decision when the time comes,” Uzamere said.
However, Midwest Herald checks shows that the ‘munemune joker’ political strategist is set to join force with the 2027 coalition in the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
