The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the party’s sole candidates for the 2027 general elections.

This comes on the heels of vote of confidence passed on president Tinubu and governor Oborevwori. The endorsement has been described by political observers as “a major show of political unity.”

The ceremony which took place during a statewide APC stakeholders meeting held on Sunday October 12, at the State Banquet Hall, Government House, Asaba, attracted party stalwarts, including the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Olorogun Festus Keyamo SAN. The minister praised President Tinubu’s “bold reforms and transformative leadership,”

Others present were serving and former National and State Assembly members, commissioners, and other political leaders from Delta North, Central, and South senatorial districts.

The motion for the confidence vote was moved by Keyamo and seconded by former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei.

In his remarks, Keyamo praised President Tinubu’s “bold reforms and transformative leadership,” particularly the removal of fuel subsidy, which he said had freed up significant funds for critical national infrastructure.

“Just two days ago, Mr. President approved $1 billion for the resuscitation of Warri Port and other key projects like the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway and the rebuilding of Lagos Airport. These are direct outcomes of prudent financial management and subsidy savings,” Keyamo stated.

Keyamo also commended Governor Oborevwori for his “visionary and result-oriented leadership,” citing the rapid infrastructure development ongoing across Delta State.

Seconding the motion, Ochie lauded both Tinubu and Oborevwori for their inclusive governance, describing them as “leaders whose vision aligns with the aspirations of the people of Delta and the South-South region.

“The people of Delta State and the entire South-South stand firmly behind President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori for their shared vision of a renewed Nigeria and a progressive Delta,” Ochei declared.

Responding to the endorsement, Governor Oborevwori expressed deep appreciation to APC stakeholders for their confidence, pledging to continue delivering impactful projects and transparent governance.

“I thank you for the confidence reposed in us. The APC is growing stronger daily. By November, more governors will join us,” he said.

He praised President Tinubu as “a man who rewards loyalty, commitment, and results,” and warned against internal disloyalty within the party.

“Some people benefiting today didn’t work for the APC, but we know them. When the time comes, loyalty will be rewarded, not hypocrisy,” the Governor cautioned.

Political stakeholders have described the endorsement of the president and governor ahead of the 2027 general elections as a historic milestone, that has shown Delta APC as a united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
